A unique tool that integrates Adobe® Photoshop® and 3ds max® in a way never seen before. The seamless fusion between the world of 2D and 3D greatly enhances, speeds-up and simplifies several every day tasks 3D artists have to perform. GhostPainter 2.0 is a solution for texturing and painting of 3D objects as well as post-production of rendered images.

Adobe® Photoshop® Plug-ins

GhostPainter 2.0 comes with several Photoshop plug-ins that interactively communicate with 3ds max®. Unique features like "vector based texture unwrapping" to Photoshop paths, allow the user to get resolution independent unwrapped UV texture information. Another great feature offered by the Photoshop connection is the ability to automatically create Photoshop selections from selected faces or even selected edges of an object. Furthermore all additonal Photoshop plug-ins are recordable in actions so that custom Photoshop actions can be used to perform repeatable tasks.

3D Painting

GhostPainter 2.0 directly connects to Photoshop and allows the user to paint on any object within 3ds max. All of the Photoshop tools, commands and filters may be used to manipulate the texture of the object. The enhanced realtime feedback gives now direct paint feedback between the Photoshop screen and the 3ds max modeling viewport. Raytracer core technology allows fast painting of objects with very high poly counts. Along with customizable speedup options GhostPainter is the perfect tool for interactive texturing and painting with Photoshop.

Workflow for Artists

By combining the proven strengths of Photoshop and 3ds max, GhostPainter offers a unique intuitive and easy workflow. Any viewport of 3ds max can be turned into a true and fully functional Photoshop viewport. All functions and controls of Photoshop are then available right from within 3ds max. Color sharing as well as drag-and-drop support between Photoshop and 3ds max are just a few examples of the easy workflow. Since GhostPainter seamlessly integrates into Photoshop and 3ds max no import/export process is required at any time. Thereby allowing to switch freely between 2D painting in Photoshop and 3D painting in 3ds max.

psd-manager the Perfect Companion

GhostPainter 2.0 includes a full version of psd-manager the advanced PSD exporter. psd-manager actually controls the render output in a way that enables the user to change or manipulate nearly every aspect of the final image without the need of re-rendering. Like no other tool it allows to automatically create properly arranged and configured Photoshop layers from Render Elements. The ability to create accurate anti-aliased masks for objects and materials on the fly makes it the key tool for manipulation of rendered images. The files produced by psd-manager are compatible with Adobe® Photoshop® and all other graphics and compositing applications that are able to read PSD files.

GhostPainter 2.0 has a suggested retail price (SRP) of US $345. Upgrades from GhostPainter 1.0 to 2.0 have an SRP of US $195. Upgrades from psd-manager 1.0 to GhostPainter 2.0 have an SRP of US $195.
