Explode with Jahka particle patch
To begin, I am sorry if I made some mistake on this tutorial, English is not my language.
I will try to explain how we can make explode and multi-explode of a mesh with the gread addition of Jahka on particles system.
I°) Explosion of a sphere :
1°) Set the scene:
For beggining, I will show you a simple explosion on a sphere. For this I will use a Plane with deflection and kill enable and an UVsphere with a particle system.
With Plane selected go to Object panel (F7) and clik on Physic button, enable Deflection to know when a paticle touch the Plane.
You will notice a button Kill, when Kill is enabled all particles that touch the Plane will be killed, I enable it:
With UVSphere selected create a new particles system in Object panel, physic button.
My Sphere have 1025 faces, I set 1025 to the amount of particles and set Emit from to Faces with Rand and even enable.
I set the start frame to 1, to begin the creation of particles at the first frame, end frame to 50 and life to 100 :
If you press Alt+A to playback, you wil see that particles as created but don't move, now I will add physics to the particles:
In the physics particle panel, set a value to the normal button to set a speed to the particles (underline in blue in the image), you can set a value to Random.
I want my particles to fall so I use the button AccZ (underline in green) and set a negative value.
I alos want my particle to rotate, I can use the angular velocity set to Random (underline in red) and set a value.
To see the rotation of a particle, you can change the visualization of the particle in the last panel to Axis.
In the Particle visuals, to keep the particle visible after killed, just enable Died button :
2°) Ok but my sphere does not explode :
If you playback, you will see the particle falling on the plane, to add explosion effect, go to Editing Panel (F9) and in the modifier enable explode and Split Edge, the effect will be better :
Normally, you have an explosion of your mesh.
II°) Multi explosion of a sphere :
Now, I want 2 parts on my explosion, the first which explode of large piece and the second explode to small piece.
I change the mount of particles to 20 in the actual system and change the end frame to 10:
In the top right of the panel, I have a button called <1 Part 1> Press the right arrow and after Add new button to add a new particle system.
In this new system, I will start the simulation to 15 (the first system stop at 10) end to 30 and make life to 100. Make some change to the others parameters like the first system.
I don't set a value to Normal but use the Value setting (underline in green)
Don't miss to enable explode in the modifier panel to the second particles system.
