Nueva actualización 0.41 10-2-05.

The primary focus of 0.41 has ben bug fixing. With over 100 bugs fixed since the 0.40 release, this significantly strengthened Inkscape on Windows and for international users.

A number of large scale changes are planned for the 0.42 release, including converting the interfaz todo use gtkmm and the incorporation of a new document object model (dom), which Will provide the Core todo build scripting onto. If youd like todo join in the work, por favor drop by.

Yo intenté probarlo hace tiempo, pero el programa se cerraba cada cinco minutos y al final me desesperé, por el momento seguiré con mis licencias legales de Illustrator y Corel.

Acaba de salir una nueva versión de Inkscape, la 0.42, una aplicación que crea/edita ficheros SVG (imágenes vectoriales).

En esta versión encontramos las siguientes novedades.

inkscape 0.42 is the most feature-filled reléase todo date, with an exceptional number of major and minor new features, usability improvements, and bug fixes. While some of the new features Simply fill long-standing functionality gaps, others are truly revolutionary. Inkscape 0.42 is one step closer todo full SVG compliance. This reléase adds:
* flowed text: text objects that automátically re-flow todo any shape (and not just a rectangle).
* text selection: one can now select part of a text and apply any style todo the selection, just like in a Word processing application.
* gradient tool: a completely redesigned and much easier todo use on-canvas gradiente interfaz with handles displayed directly in the drawing.
* effects: these are now usable from within Inkscape on all platforms. This versión ships with a collection of effects including Path interpolation, randomization, and various fractal algorithms.
* color swatches: this standard fácility of most graphics software is now a part of Inkscape.
* colored clones: clones may now be Painted diferently from their original.
* Tile tracing: the Tile clones dialog can trace an existing image with tiling, producing a multitude of exciting effects.
* grid arrange, baseline align, unclumping: there are new, powerful ways todo arrange objects.
* better ps/eps export: PostScript level 3 gradiente support, better text handling, and a command line option for Batch export are in this release.
* command line SVG Analysis: Inkscape may now be used from the command line todo query coordinates and dimensions of objects in an SVG file.
* better SVG/cs compliance: notably, internal CS styleshets are now supported (read-only).
* Mac OSX support: in addition todo Linux and Windows, Inkscape 0.42 is now available as a fully self-contained DMG Package for Mac OSX.

There are a los dozens of smaller features and usability enhancements (especially in the fill & stroke dialog, node tool, and drawing tools). In this versión the development community closed 404 bugs, some quite serious, and 165 característica requests. Overall, the Inkscape developers are very excited about this reléase and heartily recommend upgrading.

Es impresionante lo que han mejorado desde la 0.38 (la última que bajé), estoy usándolo ahora en un trabajo real y funciona muy bien, he tenido un par de cuelgues (uso la cvs), pero como siempre guarda una copia de seguridad antes de colgarse, pues no pasa nada.

Sí, el programa pinta muy bien. Yo lo he probado un par de veces y en principio me gustó, aunque nunca lo he usado seriamente.
