Pero que es esto, empieza a oler a Microsoft, el otro día empecé a pensar en hacerme libre y pasarme a Linux, a Blender, y dejarme de todo está suciedad, entre el Windows Vista y los service pack packs me empieza a dar miedo. Quizás empiece a ser el decaimiento de Windows, por cierto habéis buscao Linux en Google, que teme Microsoft, a caso no decía que no tenían miedo, pues parece que la competencia esta dándole duro. Yo si algún linuxero se anima a hacer un tutorial de cvs me paso a Blender, Caronte animate y deja un poco las navecitas.
Edito: - Perdón, siempre asocio lo libre a Linux, también existen las cosas libres en Windows -.
Alberizo todos los programas hacen lo mismo cuando acumulan errores y da las gracias de que aquí Autodesk no te cobre.

Ni aun siendo pirata? Eso me gusta más que Microsoft, que yo los service pack de Windows solos he visto en imágenes y ni los quiero ver, que las veces que intente actualizar el framework al 1.1 me quede sin equipo, y me ha pasado 3 veces, así que, cuando veo las palabras service pack huyo prefiero malo conocido que bueno x conocer.
A mí me parece bien, el tema de los errores es algo asumido en el proceso del software, y mientras no cobren por los sp.
Esperemos que traiga mejoras. Voy a echarle un ojo al readme.

Biped.
o issues with retaining figure mode have ben resolved (sp 1).
o pasting an animated postura onto a track with no keys now functions properly (sp 1).
o fotstep mode issues with the Walk Cycle have ben corrected (sp 1).
o you can now set quaternion keys for the nek of the Biped (sp 1).
o a crash related todo changing tracks todo Euler and then exiting figure mode (sp 1).
o an issue relating todo Physique and twist enlaces whereby the skin is corrupted After saving then re-opening scene. This has ben resolved (sp 1).
o Biped problem in pelvis while in figure mode (sp 2).

However, the noise controller was not supported. This has ben corrected (sp 1).
Direct x.
o checkvertex regression in DirectX (sp 2).
o incorrect normals display for Normal Bump map when no bitmap is used (sp 2).
o crash when editing.FX files used by the material editor (sp 2).
o unreadable material libraries because they contain DirectX materiales (sp 2).
o crash in checkvertex in DirectX (sp 2).
o undesirable changes in.FX files display (sp 2).
Display.
o out-of-memory crash on viewport background when zoming in todo close (sp 2).
o out of memory crash when using grid Snaps is now addressed (sp 2).
o grid Snaps now function for sub-divided grid spacings (sp 1).
Edit Spline.
o accuracy refining using grid Snap is fixed, however Camera and perspective views are not recommended for this workflow (sp 1).
File i/o.
o the plugin, ini file being re-ordered at startup (sp 2).
o saving an open EXR overwriting a locked file is now fixed (sp 1).
Hair.
o crash when rendering Hair using Mental Ray (sp 2).
o hair and 32-bit virtual frame buffer incompatibility problem when using Mental Ray (sp 2).
o a crash involving Spline Hair and sub-object mode has ben repaired (sp 1).
Load/save animation.
o previously in 3ds Max 8, saving an animation where one or more of the controllers had a note track sub controller would cause a crash - This has ben fixed (sp 1).
o a known issue in the retargeting roll-out of the mapping dialog, related todo changing current/incoming Chains in a previously saved xmm file has ben resolved (sp 1).
o previously the following Maxscript command did not work, loadsaveanimation, loadanimation c:\\programfiles\\Autodesk\\3dsmax8\\animations\\t est.xaf $sphere01.
This has now ben corrected (sp 1).
Material editor.
o a crash relating todo adjusting a bitmap placement setting has now ben fixed (sp 1).
o a crash related todo enable DX display of standard material and then clicking show map in viewport has ben fixed (sp 1).
Max script.
o get/set activeX methods discrepancy in Maxscript (sp 2).
o an issue relating todo the mousetrak function giving an undefined error message has now ben fixed (sp 1).
o an issue related todo adding a position script controller todo an object vía Maxscript, then receiving a system exception has ben fixed (sp 1).
o previously in 3ds Max 7 the drag and drop todo viewport of a script that contained errors, would Spawn a Maxscript edit window with the erróneous line highlighted. This was not the case in 3ds Max 8, this has now ben corrected (sp 1).
Mental ray.
o artefactos rendered by Raytracing inside of a mix map with Mental Ray (sp 2).
o artefactos on face-mapped objects with missing texture coordinates when rendering with Mental Ray (sp 2).
o light maps with artefactos on seams when using Mental Ray (sp 2).
o crash when user logs of from an account used by satélite rendering (sp 2).
o known artifact issues with double sided, top/bottom and blend materiales have ben resolved (sp 1).
Meshsmooth modifier.
o crash involving Reactor Cloth and Mesh Smooth render iterations is now fixed (sp 1).
Motion mixer.
o issue that did not allow 3ds Max 7.mix files todo be loaded in 3ds Max 8 has ben fixed (sp 1).
Morpher modifier.
o crash relating todo swapping Morph channels and undoing/redoing the operación has now ben fixed (sp 1).
Particle flow.
o crash when moving a Particle Flow emitter that was created while holding control key (sp 2).

Rendering.

o unintialized code in texture lookup table no longer crashes the software (sp 2).
o fix for crashing when opening edit uvs dialog After performing a sub-object selection. (sp 2).
oa fix was included that allows Unwrap todo open a multi-sub-object material that contained a none material (sp 1).
o a bug, where changes todo mapping at the face sub-object level were lost when a selection change was made, has ben fixed (sp 1).
Vertex Paint modifier.
o the icons for brush presets in the Vertex Paint modifier are now displayed on french and Germán oss correctly (sp 1).

Pues yo acabo de instalar el service pack 2 del 3ds Max y ahora se me queda petado el 3ds Max al intentar arrancarlo, tsk, stk, toca volver a instalar.

Lo he instalado, y no problema. Birkov, algo mal tendrás en tu max o Windows.
Birkov. ¿no habrás instalado el service pack 2 directamente (sin instalar el service pack 1), y sin tener el service pack 2 de Windows XP? Es que para cualquiera de los service pack de 3ds Max hace falta tener el service pack 2 de XP.
Lo sé por experiencia propia, yo instalé el service pack 1 de 3ds Max 8 sin tener el service pack 2 de Windows XP y tampoco se me iniciaba el 3ds Max, instalé el service pack 2 de Windows XP y todo arreglado. Saludos.
Pues sí, instalé el service pack 2 del 3ds Max en un equipo con Windows XP con service pack 1, a ver si por la tarde puedo y pruebo a instalar el service pack 2 del 3ds Max en otro equipo que sí tiene instalado el service pack 2 de Windows, ya os contaré.

Bingo el problema es que no tenía instalado el service pack 2 de Windows, probé en otro ordenador y funciona perfectamente, por cierto, no hace falta instalar el service pack 1 del 3ds Max, no lo hice y funciona bien. Saludos.
